He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Jane Briggs and Bonda Orso. Sheila is survived by her loyal and loving husband, Larry of Hector; her son Paul and his wife Viola Woodworth of Hector; and her step-daughter, Emily Bozeat of Tennessee. She also leaves four grandchildren and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and an older brother, Richard Smith. Age 88, passed away quietly in her sleep from natural causes on January 28, 2022.

She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed hiking, biking, and cooking. She especially enjoyed practicing Mixed Martial Arts at The Edge in Towanda, Pennsylvania, and proudly ranked as a Blue Belt. Age 52, of Burdett, NY, went to fly with the angels on July 28, 2022, peacefully with her family by her side.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church her whole life. She enjoyed traveling to the beaches of Hawaii and Cancun with her family. She also enjoyed cooking and making the large family and holiday meals.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society or the Village of Watkins Glen-Concerts in the Park. In her extra time, June enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, fireworks, birdwatching, and traveling with her family. She loved decorating her home with Christmas lights, lighting up the whole hill. June loved to dance; she could always be found doing the polka, the jitterbug, the electric slide, and several other favorites. She loved all animals and had several animal companions over the years, including exotic birds and dogs.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl “Skip” Messersmith; husband, Bernard Humphrey; daughter, Kathy Messersmith Eaves; brothers, Robert Terry and Roy “Jack” Terry; and three grandsons, Daniel Flood, Andrew Flood and Doug Arnold. Ruby worked in a factory during WWII, but for most of her life she was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was always the person who took care of everyone else.

She had several hobbies that included bowling, bird watching, gardening, her flowers, sewing, photography, many crafts, crocheting, knitting, reading books, playing cards, board games, adult coloring books and refinishing furniture. All of which she shared with her family, passing down her skills. June was well known and respected in the local community. She was a very caring, compassionate person and always put the needs of others before her own. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.
She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Goossen, Jr. Age 84, of Beaver Dams, NY and Inverness, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. She was born in Gouverneur, NY on January 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Donald and Jessie Parow. Ruth made her life has a homemaker, caring for her family. Any donations should be directed to the Watkins Glen Public Library. Buy a plant, make a quilt, plant flowers, watch the birds in remembrance of Joanna.

It was this heroic devotion to duty, with prolonged daily exposure to deadly toxins, which ultimately cost Brent his life 21 years later. State Police in 2011 following 24 years of faithful, honorable service. Wendell is survived by his beloved nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Margaret Bunn.
He could often be found with a tool in his hand to work on a car or his latest home improvement project. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jim always kept the door open for anyone looking to come in and shoot the breeze. He always looked forward to taking a drive in his ’69 Firebird.
On Saturday, March 19 at the Haughey- Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, Watkins Glen. She was also a member and secretary of the Ladies Wednesday Afternoon Club in Burdett, the Reynoldsville Community Club, and the Reynoldsville United Methodist Women's group. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. At Riverside Memorial Chapel, 1310 Prospect St., Ewing Township, NJ. A private family gathering will follow in Morrisville, PA. Local arrangements are with the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.
On April 22, Rodney’s wings were ready and the Lord called him home. He leaves behind his family and friends with broken hearts, but all had lives that were enriched by the man we called Husband, Dad, Grampa, Brother, Friend, and Competitor. Nora was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Russell T. Hults; two sons, Larry and Donald Hults; a brother, Dwight Whitehead; a sister, Louise Shattack; and by a great granddaughter, Sierra Rose Parker.
Jacqueline was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who deeply loved her children Jayleen and Jason. Mike also leaves behind a thirty plus-year tradition of annual October canoe trips he planned with his sons, brothers and other friends. Initially conceived on a whim, this trip grew to be a lasting and very important part of each autumn after the summer dock-building busy-ness had subsided, and before the start of pulling boats. The tradition evolved into many iterations, including a 20th-year celebratory RV trip across Alaska, certainly a highlight of Michael’s recent years. Covid limitations were no deterrent and found Pops out building a lean-to in the woods so that he could continue the camping tradition with his grandsons.
